In OKURADO, there is a collection called “Morning Dew”.
I would like to share with you the origins of this collection.
Whenever I come across something that interests me, I put it in a drawer in my mind.
Morning dew” was born from a combination of the contents of those drawers.
When I was a child, I loved the sight of light shining on something transparent.
A drop of light on a leaf, a marble catching the light, a soap bubble flying into the sky, etc. I hope to express them in my jewelry someday.I hoped to someday be able to express these things in jewelry.
Since I started working in jewelry making, I have been attracted to transparent cabochon-cut stones, and whenever I came across jade, quartz, or rhodochrosite that was transparent and had attractive colors, I would buy it.
At the same time, I was wondering if it would be possible to express the idea of “Behind the cloud, the sun always shining” or “Even the darkest night will end the sun will rise” (words I always tell myself) in my jewelry.
One day, when I went abroad to buy stones, my eyes were caught by a transparent stone shining in rainbow colors. It was a transparent crystal opal with a brilliant, playful color effect. The colors reminded me of the rainbow colors of marbles and soap bubbles when the sun’s rays hit them, and when I saw this opal, I began to draw together different ideas for my collection.
At the same time, I thought again about why I was attracted to the drop shape, and decided that the plump shape, transparency, and freshness of sunlight after a rainfall were the criteria for the selection of stones and forms for the “Morning Dew” collection.
I also added to the theme the very ” Behind the cloud, the sun always shining “
Now, with the addition of “ICY JADE,” an absorbing transparent jade, and Paraiba tourmaline, the collection has grown to focus on one-of-a-kind pieces created from the beautiful center stone shape.
Often, drawers created in my mind at different times are combined to form collections.I wonder if this is what Steve Jobs meant when he said, “Connect the dots.

Since the center stone is found first and then the jewelry becomes one-of-a-kind, it is also a collection where once you purchase a piece, the product is gone until another gemstone is found. It is not always available in the assortment, so it may sound strange to say, but you may be a very lucky person to have found the “Morning Dew” collection.
And I still tell myself ” Rainy days never stay ” every time I see a product from the “Morning Dew” collection.
